CIRCE is a research centre founded in 1993 with the support of the University of Zaragoza, to create and develop innovative solutions and scientific/technical knowledge and transfer them to the business sector in the field of energy.
CIRCE’s mission is to drive forward improvements in energy efficiency and to spread the use of renewable energy by means of the development of R+D+i (Research, Development and Innovation) activities and formative actions that respond to the needs of national and international producers, thereby contributing to sustainable development.
CIRCE analyses the global behaviour of wind farms by carrying out studies on resources, operations, losses, power curve studies, preventive maintenance, supply modelling and quality.
CIRCE also runs the LME laboratory, one of the few laboratories accredited by MEASNET to perform power curve tests on wind turbines.
Individual research and training aspects offered
- PhD programme on Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency with the “Citation for Excellence”.
- Access to advanced measurement equipment for power performance with high data rates.
- Access to the facilities of the LME-CIRCE Laboratory, accredited for Power Performance Characterization of wind turbines and belonging to the MEASNET network.
- Wind turbines SCADA data from 3 years of around 5000 MW of installed power.
