The European Association of European Renewable Energy Research Centres has released their second edition of the “Renewable Energy Projects Catalogue: A guide to successful and innovative projects in the area of renewable energy”.
The document gathers a total amount of 31 projects, led by EUREC members, which have contributed to increase the presence of renewable energy technologies in the energy mix, by reducing their costs, increasing their reliability or facilitating their integration in the energy system.
The Catalogue is divided in four main chapters dedicated to:
• Renewable Electricity (e.g. PV, wind, biomass, solar thermal, ocean, hybrid systems)
• Renewable Heating And Cooling (e.g. heat pumps, solar thermal)
• Sustainable Transport (fuel cells and biofuels)
• Horizontal Topics (e.g. grid integration and energy storage, studies to support transition to sustainable energy, education and training activities)
Each chapter presents examples of successful and innovative projects in its respective area, and the AWESOME project has been included in the Renewable Energy chapter with other projects that are related to renewable sources for electricity production.
The publication presents the main challenges and features of the project, as well as the results achieved so far by the project partners.
Attached it is possible to find the AWESOME project article, and the full catalogue can be found at EUREC’s website. http://www.eurec.be/en/upload/docs/pdf/EUREC-Renewable%20Energy%20Projects%20Catalogue-WEB.pdf
