The AWESOME PhD students attend the second specific course at Norway

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, one of the AWESOME project partners, hosted the second specific course organized by the project in order to continue the training of the PhD students in the field of wind power Operation and Maintenance.

The event was held in November at the university campus, located in the city of Trondheim.

After the introduction to the main concepts of O&M of windfarms during the first specific course, the second one deepened into the details and more specific key aspects that affect the lifespan of a windturbine.

Along a two-day intensive program, the different lectures imparted by project partners and representatives of the industrial sector, showed to the students methods for structural reliability analysis or models for wind speed forecasting, among others.

The specific training will support the students to continue their research projects at their respective hosting institutions, having the new course programmed for the beginning of 2017.
